Anthony has been very busy in 2007 -- in front of and behind the camera on television and in film. At the start of the year, you might have seen him on tv battling Zorro as the hero got his taxes completed by a Jackson Hewitt representative. Following that, he shot a Subway sandwich commercial as one of four trail-beaten cowboys enjoying a "civilized" lunch of sandwiches. He appeared as a fencing instructor on The War At Home (where he also choreographed the sport fencing) and was one of Hajek's bodyguards in the television pilot Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Anthony completed performing in two independent films this year. In House of Fallen he portrays Cole, a hunter of the Grigori and choreograhed a very dynamic fight with martial artist James Houston. For Spin of Fabrication, a historical fantasy film, he choreographed and performed fight sequences. He also trained actor Harrison Ford in bullwhip for the Genre Project currently in production.
Anthony is also continuing to travel the US teaching workshops under his company De Longis Performance and Combats Arts. He was a guest instructor at the Society of American Fight Directors' annual Virginia Beach Bash, taught workshops at Regent University in Virginia, and co-hosted Camp Fearless 2 in Virginia Beach.
Camp Fearless 3 is being scheduled for October 2007 in Virginia Beach, and a De Longis Performance and Combat Arts (DPACA) workshop is in the works for Seattle, WA this fall.
Anthony is now offering private intensive training at Rancho Indalo in Canyon Country, CA -- an hour from downtown Los Angeles, and worlds away from its crowds and prying eyes. In collaboration with Lynn Thompson, President of Cold Steel, Anthony has completed a new instructional video set, Fighting With The Saber and Cutlass. This video is the result of intensive training and research into the combative use of the saber and cutlass in defensive situations. This is NOT a theatrical swordplay video. The DVD set is available through Cold Steel Knives.
Anthony's company Palpable Hit Production continues to produce high-quality instructional videos on swordplay for both performance and combat. Our current line of products includes Rapier for the Stage and Screen, Broadsword for the Stage and Screen, La Verdadera Destreza: The Art and Skill of Spanish Swordsmanship, La Scherma Italiana: The Basics of Italian Rapier Fencing., Whip Cracking With The Masters and Mastering the Bullwhip (in association with Martial Arts Systems). All are now available in DVD format.
