At Rancho Indalo, we believe that all firearms should be handled with attention to safety, care and respect. With ownership comes responsibility. We also believe that cultivating that responsibility can only be done with gun-handling experience under the watchful eye of an instructor.
If you have an interest in learning safe gun-handling, we are ready to give you one-on-one instruction with a variety of weapons. Instruction includes the basic components of the firearm, safe gun-handling procedures, loading and unloading protocols, target acquisition, and gun cleaning.
Anthony and Mary are both cowboy action competitors in the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). This shooting sport entails shooting a specified series of targets with shotgun, rifle and single action pistols. Anthony competes as a duelist, holding pistols in his strong hand with no supporting hand. Mary shoots as a lady gunfighter, shooting pistol targets by alternating between pistols in right and left hand.
Through Rancho Indalo, you can enjoy the opportunity to try your hand at pistol, rifle and shotgun handling with stationary targets. If you want a greater challenge, we also offer sporting clay shooting.
Anthony is a member of the National Rifle Association and the California Pistol and Rifle Association, and both he and Mary are holders of California Handgun Safety Certificates( HSC). At Rancho Indalo, we believe that all weapons should be held in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. If you are are California resident interested in taking the HSC exam, let us know. If possible, we will arrange for you to obtain study materials and schedule an appointment with a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer to administer the exam.
We request that guests refrain from bringing any of their personal handguns or long guns with them for safety reasons. Guests under the age of 18 will not be allowed to participate in gun training.
Alcohol and firearms do not mix. For that reason, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages will not be served until all weapons have been secured for the evening.
