Louisiana, March 2001
Taking some time off for a little R&R (that's Research & Recreation) in Louisiana gave Anthony the chance to head out to the shooting range and visit with Pop Hyams (left), whose knowledge of shooting and hunting are only surpassed by the generosity of his heart. Pop gave Anthony a few pointers while shooting 5-stage skeet (right).
Of course, no trip to Louisiana would be complete without a visit to New Orleans. While there, Anthony grabbed the opportunity to ride the paddle-wheeler Creole Queen (left) to Chalmette, site of the Battle of New Orleans. And the visit couldn't be complete without at least one visit to Preservation Hall in the French Quarter (center), and a ride to the Garden District on a streetcar (right).
British Columbia, Canada, November 2000
Despite the cool temperatures, Anthony and Marley play tug-of-war along the waters of English Bay in Vancouver (left). Just 30 minute outside Vancouver is Mt. Seymour, a ski resort, and the slippery hardpack snow that day gave him moment to pause (middle), before introducing Marley to snow (right), which seemed to thrill her to no end.
Almeria, Spain, Summer 2000
Spain is beautiful to visit, and even more to live. Living high on the side of a mountain near Turre gave Anthony beautiful vistas (left), startlingly colorful sunsets (center), and a fabulous beach only minutes away at which he and his dog, Marley, could romp (right). In fact, Marley became quite a good swimmer, as evidenced by this Beach Video (1.3 Mb) of Marley swimming out to visit Anthony.
About 15 minutes away from Tabernas is the town of Sorbas, a beautiful, small town popular for its pottery craftsmen. It also has the largest gypsum cave system in the world - with individual arrowhead-shaped crystals measuring more than 6 ft. long. Anthony took the time to take a 3 hr. tour of just a portion of the system, which meant crawling through some rather small openings in the walls (left). On the trail from the exit, Anthony found some of the crystals along the pathway (right). The caves are a must-see for anyone visiting the area.
Queensland, Australia, April 2000
Before attending the Highlander Down Under Convention in April, 2000, Anthony took some time to visit Australia - a country he had long desired to explore. A grand tour of Sydney gave Anthony the chance to ride something really unique (upper left) - a brass boar used for making wishes by rubbing the nose (hence its golden gleam) and making a contribution to the Sydney Psychiatric Hospital by dropping coins in the box below it. Afther that, it was off into the Glass Mountains of Queensland (upper right).
A tour of the rainforest of Queensland included 2 days at Marlin Park, a working cattle ranch offering extended horse tours (lower left), exquisite meals, and friendly company. This included the son of the couple who run the place, Danny (lower middle). Danny is a big Masters of the Universe fan, thanks to his older brother. He also took time for an extended hike around Kondalilla Falls (lower right).
Southern California, December 1999
An avid sportsman, Anthony never turns down the chance to have fun, including winter water-skiing. Anthony is all smiles, despite the chilly waters as he gets ready for his foray out onto the bay (left). At right, smooth waters are smooth skiing for Anthony's slaloming.

A chance to dress up and play with swords? Anthony took a day off to play at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, sparring with one of the performers (left), checking himself out as he tries on some fancy period duds (middle), and visiting with friends Howard and Jennifer (right), two members of the St. Ives Guild.
Ontario, Canada, September 1998
Talk about on top of the world! Anthony's time in Toronto gave him the opportunity to ride to the top of the CN Tower, the highest free-standing building in the world (left). Always ready for the opportunity to climb onto a horse, Anthony spent the summer training with the Governor General's Horse Guard (middle), before heading out from Pearson on to another adventure (right).
Bulgaria, August 1997
During the filming of Sinbad: The Battle of the Dark Knights", Anthony spent his free time enjoying the countryside and the opportunity to work on his whip and horse skills. At left, Anthony gives a whip lesson to co-star Ryan Slater (brother of Christian Slater). He also took time to get to know the horse he would ride in the film (center), and get him used to a whip being cracked by his rider (right).
